Why does PayPal take so long to give my money back?

Purchased an item as a normal operation, and proceed with payment using my paypal account liked to my checking account in Bank of America. They drown the money from Bank of america, and proceed with payment. Next day, I receive an email from Paypal, saying, there found some suspicius activitie in the transaction, (dont know why) and decided to reverse the operation. At first sight I feel comfortable for the security reason, however, after one day, they started asking me to change my password, verify my identity, my phone number, passport, bank statement, pictures, and soo on. And the money was not there…
So, they take away my money, didnt pay the item, and didnt returned money to my account, and to be worst, they “limited” my account. Who they think they are? At this moment this is a stolen money!!!!

Because they want to make some money of your money by collecting interest. That is why paypal takes so long to give you your money. I had to wait 15 days for money to be returned to me but paypal took it the second I paid. PayPal has it all figured out and it is not going to benefit you.

I agree they will hold your money to make money. PP rips everyone off! I waited 60 days for my money. Never will i use PP again. If iom looking to purchase on ebay and they use PP they lost my purchase

they keep your money to make more money. They get interest off your money. so of course they will hold it for as long as they want to make themselves richer!

They think they are the king of the world! The processing time for PayPal once they have your funds on hold range anywhere from 21 days to 6 months. The real kicker here is that they withdrew your money from BOA which leaves you high and dry in every way. The smart thing to do is comply with everything they are requesting then get someone on the phone to help you out. This is exactly why I stopped working with them. They are too unpredictable. One minute your doing great processing thousands then the next you are stuck in a rut watching them play with your money while you run around like a chicken with your head cut off trying to provide them with the request “security docs”.

Paypal is on Island time when it comes to the reimbursement of funds. Generally payment processing time should be 2-3 business days – this includes refunds or reversing charges. The keyword is “generally” the reality of the situation is that they have your money and it’s at their desecration when the funds will find its way back to your account. Now if your funds are on hold because the account is limited for whatever reason that’s a whole ‘nother thing. Your wait time can be up to 6 months. I would hop on the phone with your bank to see if they can help settle this for you. Oh and never use paypal again =p
