Permanently limited after providing documentation
I have recently just started up a new business on ebay it was all going fine until pay-pal decided to freeze my account for no valid reason other than they needed more information from me which i was happy to provide. because of this i was unable to pay to send out my parcels they wanted tracking numbers for the parcels ?? makes no sense if i cant send them out i made a number of phone calls explaining that if they didn’t lift the restriction people would open disputes because they had not received their items i was told it would be reviewed in 24-48 hours. I came to work the next day and what had happened people had opened disputes so then pay-pal decided they would put a permenent limitation on my account which then led to my ebay account being shut down !!! i have spent the last 3 weeks on the phone to these idiots providing information bank statements tracking numbers etc… only to be told the restriction will not be lifted and i can never use pay-pal again ??
the only reason they could give me is that i am a high risk account and that i am a security risk !! i would understand if i hadn’t provided all the info they required and spent almost every day on the phone to them trying to resolve this issue !!

you don’t have to have paypal to sell on ebay. many people think that you can only sell on ebay with paypal but this is not true. I have been selling on ebay for over a year using a merchant account with a payment gateway and it’s a lot easier then using paypal. of course ebay won’t tell you this since they own paypal.
with ebay and paypal being one and the same it’s like having your defense attorney also being the prosecutor. it will never work that way!
Once you have a strike against your paypal record you will always be flagged as high risk. I’m surprised they didn’t undo the limitation on your account but consider yourself luck to never have to deal with them again! I had a long time customer file a dispute with their credit card company over an order that was placed and fulfilled, paypal panicked and sided with the client even though I furnished proof that everything was delivered and signed for, I even sent a copy of the letter of recommendation that the customer gave to a friend. My case was a rare one where the guy just didn’t want to pay his bill, but what really ticked me off was the way paypal sided with them so quickly.
I know it doesn’t seem like it but you are lucky they permanently limited your account. This company is horrible to work with. I was limited myself but I refused to provide them with any information until they gave me a valid reason as to why they limited me to begin with. Of course they couldn’t. SO i took the high road and found a merchant account processor that was better suited for my needs
