Paypal is not user friendly and hides their fees
I only use paypal for personal reasons – paying people back for things or taking payments from friends. For example, I just fronted the money for a vacation weekend and a bunch of friends needed to pay me back.
If people understand paypal then this is not a problem, However, many inexperienced friends of mine end up checking the wrong box on the transaction form which results in me paying a fee. The only way to avoid paying fees is to have people check “personal” then “other”. Even when I explain this to people, they mess it up from time to time.
The problem here is paypal gives the sender ZERO indication as to which of their options result in fees and which don’t. To top it off, paypal HIDEs the fees from you when you look at your balance. IT’s really bleeping dishonest and I’m sick and bloody tired of it.
This is actually costing paypal users because my friends tend to be so confused when I to explain what’s going on that they invariably conclude “oh that paypal is weird and unreliable”.
Why can’t paypal be honest about this?
