PayPal Always Sides with Buyers

I sold an item and the buyer paid me through paypal. I shipped the items to him EMS which has signature and delivery confirmation.

As soon as he received the items he opened a PayPal dispute. I contacted him and he sent me a message stating that his account was compromised and that he would return my money. After that message he stopped communicating with me.

I submit all the conversations to PayPal documenting his intent to purchase all items. I gave the tracking numbers along with photographs of the packaged items next to the shipping labels to confirm that they were sent.

I immediately lost the case and now I am out $4,373.00 and the gear that they did not require him to send back…

They refused to accept an appeal and referred me to the collection agency.

Now I have a collection agency after me and it seems that I will be getting bad credit if I do not pay the money.

I’m not sure what to do and I can’t afford to just lose the money and camera gear.
