PayPal mistakenly put a hold on my account and did nothing about it.

After being diagnosed with an illness that was going to keep me home indefinitely without medical insurance, I somehow needed to support myself, so I opened an eBay and PayPal account.

After a 8 years years of working very hard at this business and perfecting it with a custom made logo, store front and pages, as well as a high standard for product and customer service, with a 99.9% rating and 0 complaints or open claims,… PAYPAL decided to put a 90 day hold on 2700.00 + dollars, stating “complaints” and a “bad rating” which was untrue, I didn’t have any of these issues.
PAYPAL also asked me to confirm my identity with copies of utility bills and a copy of my DL, which I did comply with. After sending I called PayPal and spoke to a supervisor, who confirmed, I in fact did NOT, have any reason to have a hold placed on my account, that I was indeed a perfect seller and should NOT have this hold on my account, that this hold must be a mistake.

HOWEVER !!! Once a hold is in place it CAN NOT BA REMOVED, AND MUST RUN ITS COURSE. I told the supervisor, in 30 days I will be evicted from my home!! All the money I have was in that PayPal account. The best response from PayPal was to borrow money from someone,… But who ???? I have no family. I called PayPal everyday, begging them to take this unwarranted hold of my account, to no avail. Eventually, I had so much negative feedback from not being able to ship out any product that eBay closed my store, because now I did have negative FB and open Claims against me and my store for refunds that I couldn’t give for 90 days. After refunding, there was no money left. I lost everything. I lost my amazing store, and I can NEVER SELL ON EBAY AGAIN, and I lost my ability to support myself. I also lost my apartment and have been homeless ever since 2011. I’ve tried many times since to fix this with PayPal and EBay, and I get treated like some third world criminal, I’ve even been yelled at and hung up on.

I’m innocent, I worked hard to make the business work. It was all I had to survive with my illness, those thief’s put a sick, defenseless, and now, broke woman, THANKS TO THEM, on the streets, and they don’t give a DAMN !!!

    I have a PayPal account, and with all my travels I use PayPal to pay, and this time , I got an email telling me that a gueat of mine reversed his credit card, and automatically got money from my account! This is not right, my money was gone in a minute just because the guest filed a reverses payment in his credit card. I gave all the services, paid salaries to my boat and kitchen crew, hotels and travel agencies that I have linked with just to please this guest, and one complaint that the hotel shower is not working well, reversed the payment they paid me!! Almost $2,000.00 was withdrawn from my account. PayPal didn’t even ask or investigated first about the situation. Now my money is negative!!!! The guests now are probably having a party because they went to the Philippines free!!! 5nights with 4 star hotel and accommodations, all paid byy bank. And now I have Zero on my paypal!! Please make this open to the world! The PayPal is a scum of the world!!–and so with this Mexicans that went to my country and uses and abused my services! I have pictures and receipts that shows they had a greatness here!! Why does PayPal don’t investigate first, that is my question??

    Same here, they are saying while I am in good standing, I locked into my account from another country and the account is permanently blocked now. I cannot use any email addresses and credit cards associated to my account anymore and there is no way of resolving this issue.

    I am also a victim. Paypal froze my account with over $25,000 for payments I received from vendors. Now I cannot pay my expenses and am on the verge of laying off employees because of it. PayPal has no care for what you do or what your life is. They are concerned with putting more money in their pockets. Absolutely disgusting. Not only that, they permanently limited my account after submitting all proof.

    Now the only plausible way I can get back on would be going stealth with the help of Auction Essistance. PayPal will literally force you into bankruptcy, your best option would be to have a plan B in this case.

  9. Paypal are a bunch of bandits. I sold some personal equipment on ebay. Received the funds, and spent the money. A few weeks later I get notification that a chargeback had been placed on my account, and a damand was made to return the funds.
    Thankfully they did not have my bank account information, and all they had was my credit card, which had since expired, so I did not loose the 1,500.00 I sold my Hasleblad camera for. The buyer said it arrived damaged, and rather than file a claim with UPS he filed a charge back. The camera was never returned, the buyer kept it, so as far as I know it arrived perfect, and the buyer just wanted a free camera.
    Anyway because I lost my dispute with paypal, and I refused to give them my bank accountor a new credit card so they could charge me back I considered the sale complete and final, because I sold as is where is no warranty.
    Then PP sent to collections, and they f*cked up my credit score for 7 years. I did nothing wrong, other than not allow myself to be a victum of fraud, and PP rewards me by dragging my credit score through the mud.

    Who else has fallen prey to this SCAM? I can show you 7 different screenshots from 7 different “adjustments”/”corrections” they’ve made to my account… ALL in a matter of the past 2 months… I’ve had my current PayPal account since 2008 and NEVER seen/heard anything like this happen… and now it happens once a week. I’m taking a HIT of at least 300$ to 700$ a week from them on this, and the tally just keeps going up… we’re near 2800$ now…
