PayPal lied to me about Seller Protection

I was told by PayPal that I would be protected as a seller. I was selling basketball tickets and called twice to make sure that this was OK and that I had seller protection. 160 days later the buyers filed a chargeback. I submitted documentation showing everything that I had done was done correctly. It didn’t matter to the credit card company and Paypal did not protect me as they had promised they would do. They said if the buyer had disputed through Paypal I would have been protected but because they disputed through their credit card company I wasn’t. It didn’t make sense. PayPal promises chargeback protection. The tickets were sold almost at facevalue! With the fees and everything I did not make any money off of them. To then have to PAY paypal for tickets I no longer had…I WAS/AM furious! Not to mention the $400 I had in my account has been taken! Is there anything I can do to get my money back? I can’t afford to loose $400.

Paypal will lie to you about everything as long as they’ll get your money. They are the biggest bunch of liars on the planet. There is nothing you can do at this point to get your money back from Paypal. The buyer disputed the the charge through their credit card and paypal will never go against that decision. The only thing you could do is take the buyer to small claims court.

Try filing a dispute with paypal about the charge back. I sell on ebay and had a buyer try this. He filed with his credit card company. I filled out the form on paypal to fight this. It took a couple months but paypal fought the chargeback and I won.

You know, it’s funny. I got screwed by Paypal 3 times. Last time for $550. But they did cover a couple of other small disputes. I think that’s their policy – cover small $20-$30 disputes that are not worth spinning the wheels about and screw the user on bigger ones. Incidently, I got screwed by paypal as a buyer once
and as a seller twice. So there is really NO SUCH THING AS PAYPAL PROTECTION, seller or buyer..

Ah if ur gonna sell somethin at least read d user agreement. one think i no for a fact is a chargeback is the bank recallin money. I used to work in a bank. paypal were nightmares, always tryna stop us recallin funds.
