PayPal is trying to force me to get credit card
I didn’t loose tons of money or anything but this kind of thing really pisses me off. I think that it would qualify as an anti-trust issue.
I recently purchased a $300 sewing machine online. The next day I received an email:
“Hi, I am sorry we do not ship to unconfirmed Paypal addresses. You are welcome to confirm your address with Paypal and resubmit your order.”
Okay, shouldn’t be a problem, being as how I have had this Paypal account for 3 years and have a 140+ 100% positive rating. I go the help menu and type, “verify my address”. This is what I get:
“There are 3 ways to confirm the address on your PayPal account:
.Add a credit or debit card to your account (this is fastest).
.Be approved for the PayPal Extras MasterCard®.
.Request a confirmation code by mail after you’ve had your PayPal account for 90 days.
To add a credit or debit card to your account:
Log in to your PayPal account.
Click Profile.
Click My money.
Click Add my card beside “Debit and credit cards.”
Select the Card Type, then enter your card information.
Click Add Card.
To apply for the PayPal Extras MasterCard®:
Log in to your PayPal account.
Click Products and Services.
Click View all PayPal Products and then click PayPal Extras MasterCard®.
Click Apply Now and complete your application and review the terms.
Click Agree and Continue to submit your application.
To request a confirmation code by mail:
Log in to your PayPal account.
Click Help at the top of the page.
Enter Confirm my address in the Search box.
Click Is there another way to confirm my address?
Follow the instructions provided.
What if I don’t want another credit card/credit inquiry on my credit report?
I attempted to follow the instructions to verify my address by mail. THE PAGE DOESN’T EXIST.
No Thanks PayPal. I don’t need to be strong armed into another credit card I don’t need.

so how did you receive all your previous orders if your address was not confirmed?
Paypal are bullies and the way they treat their users is unheard of in the business world. Who does that? They are rude to you on the phone, never reply to emails, hold your money without explanation or reason and more or less try to run your business their way. The interest on that paypal credit card is nearly 30%
Where does it say anywhere that you are FORCED to sign up for a paypal credit card? It says (as you have posted it) the fastest way is to add a card. You can use your existing credit/debit cards. It also says (as you have posted it) that doing that is the fastest way to verify your account. you’re a fucking idiot.
