I am out of my money and my merchandise

I sold an item on Paypal for a rather large amount of money. I invoiced the buyer using her email address. The next morning, I got an email from paypal saying it was paid and gave me a transaction number and and receipt number for the correct amount. The funds were never showing up in my account.

I have called Paypal numerous times and they tell me the buyer has not paid. The buyer said that paypal deducted 300 more than they should have. I received a notice from paypal telling me to refund her 300 to her and they would put the money into my account. it has been a week now. Paypal said the emails were fake. The buyer says if I refund the 300 she will see that I get my money.

At this point, I am not going to refund anything. I asked the buyer to send me her notice from Paypal she received when she made payment. She has not done that. I shipped the item purchased once I received an email with the payment info on it. So now she has the merchandise, I have no money and no one wants to help. Paypal says the emails I received were fakes. I sent them to spoof.com and have heard nothing except my account has zero balance in it. The buyer will not sent proof of payment.

I guess I am out of my money and my merchandise. Paypal said that they could not deduct more than the invoice amount from the buyer. I don’t know who to believe and rather than make myself sick over this more than I am, I just filed a fraud and criminal complaint against the buyer with the FBI and IC3.gov. I have buyer name, phone number, email address, husband name and address and the name and address where buyer had the item shipped. Don’t know what else to do. I am an individual seller and I had the item listed on Craigs list. Guess I am out $4100.00 and the item I sold.
