I called Ebay for help and ended up losing eBay and Paypal account.
All I did was call EBay to ask them to link my new ID to my Powerseller/Top Rated Seller ID so that I could sell some different products under a new ID and not mix my brands up. A simple call to inquire and ask for help!! A total nightmare followed. All of a sudden the tele-advisor said he had to stop me selling on EBay but could give no explanation. The next thing I knew, within minutes, is that my so far totally problem free and good trading Paypal account is limited and I am asked for lots of information. I provide ALL the information straight away. A few hours later I receive an email saying that Paypal wishes to part company with me. So I call them to try to sort it out amicably. The nice man on the phone said there was nothing he could do, even though it was clear that my Paypal account had no complaints and was running perfectly well, so he sent me a link to the UK financial ombudsman, whom I phoned to launch a complaint. It appears that they have linked me to a former account which did go wrong due to a customer not paying us, so we couldn’t pay them and when the customer went into liquidation there was nothing we could do and our business had to go under in the recession. It was not our fault but Paypal say I am personally responsible for that now closed business sums outstanding to them, even though in UK law I am not responsible. I totally rely on my EBay sales to earn a living and without a Paypal account it is impossible even to list and item for sale on EBay. So this random decision after months of hard work and no problems building my new business, hits me very hard. If I cannot earn through EBay then I will be homeless within two months and I will lose all the work of the past year to build a life out of a difficult time caused by recession and another company liquidating on me so they couldn’t pay me and etc.
